ABOUT US

The Spanish Global Learning Academy is a private institute devoted to instruct, inspire and cultivate the Spanish language proficiency of its international participants. We do not only expect our participants to learn Spanish, but we want them to live Spanish by having the best experience possible. Our primary objective is to provide a comfortable learning environment, where our participants are capable of learning Spanish as well as enjoy the bountiful beauties of Costa Rica. Our staff is friendly, well trained and all our language professors hold degrees in linguistics and/or philology in the Spanish language.

We provide in home training as well as courses taught via the internet. Anyone of our courses can be taught in the home, at the park, local plaza or via the internet using messenger programs such as Skype, Yahoo, AOL or MSN. Our participants represent all ages, backgrounds and regions of the world. Whether located in Costa Rica or in the heart of Bejing, or the Great Plains of the United States, everyone can benefit from the services offered by the Spanish Global Learning Academy.

MISSION

Spanish Global Learning Academy is a professional training organization which provides intensive Spanish and cross-cultural education to international participants. As a language training institution, we strive for excellence in an environment which treats training participants, faculty and staff with respect. We attempt to understand and appreciate the students' cultural differences and to enhance their ability to function effectively in a new Spanish culture. We believe in encouraging the language acquisition and personal progress of participants in an atmosphere of support, openness, and understanding.

COURSES

The Spanish Global Learning Academy offers courses in:

Intensive Spanish for Absolute Beginners
Intermediate Spanish
Advanced Spanish
Vacation Spanish
Spanish Conversation

To facilitate the Spanish language learning process, participants will be involved in the following activities: face to face Spanish lectures and tutorials, homestays and tourist excursions. All courses are offered for private in home lessons as well as online tutorials.

CURRICULUM

BASIC SPANISH COURSES

The Spanish Global Learning Academy has three basic levels of Spanish courses starting with beginner, followed by intermediate and lastly advanced. The following is an example of some of the themes discussed in each level; however, the course contents are not limited to the subsequent topics.

VACATION SPANISH

This course is perfect for those individuals who want to learn survival Spanish; basic skills necessary to do tasks such as: shopping, taking a taxi to the local market, ordering food at a restaurant or greeting your friends and local Ticos, Costa Ricans . Vacation Spanish is a specialized course devoted to the casual tourist and those who are interested in learning Spanish basics in the least amount of time possible. By the end of the first week you will know how to navigate in spanish, name the exotic fruits in the local supermarket, count all of those costa rican colones and say typical greetings such as Pura Vida and Que Dicha and Buenas Dias! This course also includes special excursions to local markets, stores, retaurants and other local attractions located in the San Jose area with an emphasis on displaying knowledge learned through class.

SPANISH CONVERSATION

This course is perfect for those who already have a great Spanish language foundation and who just want to perfect their Spanish speaking ability. Spanish Conversation focuses on developing the habits and discipline needed to be a great Spanish speaker.

HOW IT WORKS

The Spanish Global Learning Academy specializes in private on site Spanish instruction. We come to your home, place of work or even a mutual public space. We charge weekly by course or by the hour, which ever our participants prefer. Once you decide to book a course with us, you send an email to: spanishgla@gmail.com stating your interest and we will then send you an application. You tell us what type of course you would like to receive and when you would like to start and YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY to learning Spanish. One of our fine Spanish professors will be dispatched to your prefered place of study.

PRICES

All courses are 3 hours a day, four days a week, offered Monday-Friday. Participants can choose which days they desire classes.

COURSES BY THE HOUR

Tutorials:
We also offer courses by the hour for those who are not interested in a complete course, or just Spanish tutoring and instruction by the hour. The rates are the following: $15.00/hr. Group Rates are $25/hr. (max of 4 people or additional $5 per person)

Online Courses:

All of our courses are capable of being taught online. Prices for each course are as stated above ($140 per week) or participants can pay hourly for instruction at the following rate: $12/hr.

HOME STAY

If student’s wish to stay with a host family, arrangements through the institute can be made at the following rates: $20/day or $140/week. The student also has the option of taking courses on site at their home stay.

PAYMENT
Major credit cards (MasterCard, VISA) through PAYPAL. All payments must be made before classes can begin.
